Obituary For Roland George Bouffard

Roland George Bouffard, age 91, of Bristol, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Beverly (King) Bouffard. Born in Barrington, he was the son of the late Simon and the late Lena (Theroux) Bouffard.

A 1950's graduate of Warren High School, Roland worked as a store manager for First National Supermarket after serving as a Navy seaman in the Korean War. Roland was an skilled woodworker, building everything from swings and intricate windmills to benches and Adirondack chairs made out of hockey sticks and skis. He and Beverly were also avid travelers and spoke fondly of their trips to Florida, Alaska, and everywhere in between. Roland loved spending time with his family and all of their pets. Most importantly, he was a proud grandfather and loved being a part of all of his grandsons' sporting events and milestones in life.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Bouffard) Calitri and her husband John of Barrington. He was a loving grandfather to Christopher and Matthew Calitri and Christopher's wife Katie.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for visitation on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10 AM in St. Mary's Parish, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809 and internment in North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St. Bristol, RI.

    I am saddened to hear about the passing of Roland, i first met Roland at Saint Mary's Church in Bristol, RI @ the 4pm mass. We became good friends and always had great conversations. Roland, Rest in Peace-until we meet again.

    Karen, John and family; So sorry to hear of your dads passing, he was a wonderful man. I have such fond memories of him and your late mom from my childhood, they were both always so kind to me and always made me feel welcomed in their home.
