Obituary For Roland L. Lapre Sr.
Roland L. Lapre Sr., 96, of Warren, RI, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2025. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Alfred and Eliza (Benjamin) Lapre and the beloved husband of the late Aurore D. (Trudel) Lapre.
Roland proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. During his tour of duty, he was assigned to West Point as an Anti-aircraft Artillery Instructor. He later went on to work in construction as a certified welder for many years. Roland loved the company of his family and was always first in line to help out with any project the family would have.
Roland is survived by his son, David R. Lapre of Warren, RI; his daughter, Nancy Rego and her husband Jay of Warren, RI; his grandchildren, Justin, Brandon and Ryan Lapre, Christopher Lapre and Stephanie Coffland and John, Eliza and Aimee Rego; his four great grandchildren, and his daughter in law, Nancy Lapre. He was the father of the late Roland L. Lapre Jr., the brother of the late Alfred Lapre Jr., Robert Lapre, Edward Lapre and Corinne Lawrence and the father in law of the late Josephine M. Lapre.
Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 8-9:30AM followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main St. Warren, RI 02885. A Burial will be at St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon St. Warren, RI 02885.
