Obituary For Ronald Curria

Warren - Ronald Curria, 71, of Warren died Saturday May 19, 2018 at the Orchard View Manor in East Providence. He was the husband of the late Jane (DeBlois) Curria.

Ronald was born in Providence a son of the late John and Mary (Borges) Curria.

He was a welder at Electric Boat for a few years before retiring in 1986.

Mr. Curria was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Private during the Vietnam War.

He was a Warren resident all of his life, and a member of the American Legion Post 11 in Warren, and also a member of the D.A.V.

He enjoyed growing sunflowers.

Ronald was the father of David Curria of Bristol, Stephen Curria of Providence and Kevin Curria of Warren. He was the brother of Cathleen Curria of Warren.

Mr. Curria was the grandfather of 5 , he was also survived by any nieces and nephews.

Ronald was the brother of the late Richard Curria and the late Edward Curria.

His funeral will be held Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 8:00am from the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren , followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church,500 Metacom Avenue, Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in South Burial Ground Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday MORNING from 8:00-9:30am

    Ron was a solid, sincere brother and fellow veteran. I was fortunate to serve with Ron on the local DAV board of directors. Ron was always willing to help anyone in need no matter what the task. RIP brother. Gone, but never forgotten.

    Peaches, I am so sad about Ronnie. He was such a nice and kind man. He was a loyal friend to you, and you could have not been more loyal and a real help to him all these years. He is at peace now and remember someday we will all meet him again. My heart just goes out to you. Love, Bettie

    Peaches, My deepest sympathy goes out to you. as you know i have been in your shoes. time heals and you will know and feel him with you where ever you go. he will watch over you and give you the strength to go on with life without him here. just know you were his special friend and caretaker and he knows how much you cared and loved him. he is at rest now but know that he is with you every minute, every hour of every day. He is at peace.
