Obituary For Ronald Paul Remy

Ronald P. Ron Remy, 76 of Warren died Monday Oct. 12 2015 at R.I. Hospital.

He was the husband of the late Joanne (Barboza) Remy, and the companion of Patricia Pat Shipley. Mr. Remy was born in Fall River, a son of the late Noe H. and Leah (Davol) Remy.

Ron was a Mechanical Technician Engineer for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, for over 43 years before retiring.He was a U.S Air Force Veteran.

He has lived in Warren for most of his life, he was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Mr. Remy was a member of the fishing club, the Elks in Bristol, member of the German Club. Ron was a fifty year member of the Warren Fire Dept. serving on Hook and Ladder Company. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking and spending time with his family.

Besides his companion he is survived by his daughters Pamela Tanner and her husband Bob of Swansea, Ronelle Brown and her husband David of Warren, a brother Bob Remy of Warren, a sister Virginia Furtado of Warren. Mr. Remy was the grandfather of Christopher Tanner, Ryan Tanner, Caitlin Tanner, Gregory Brown, and Nicole Brown. Mr. Remy was also the was the great grandfather of 3. Mr. Remy was the father of the late Ronald P. Ronnie Remy Jr.

His funeral service will be held Sunday Oct. 18, 2015 at 4:30pm in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday from 2-5pm. Gifts in his memory can be sent to the Warren Rescue,1 Joyce St. Warren, RI 02885.

    I worked with Ron at NUWC for a number of years and I have so many fond memories of traveling and working with Ron. He was a positive can-do type of person who worked hard and got along great with everyone he met. I will miss him and I pass along my thoughts and prayers to his family and many friends.
