Ruth B. Francis, 89, of Fall River, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Kussay) Brelsford, Ruth grew up in the Warren/Bristol area before moving to Swansea. She eventually settled in Fall River, where she resided for the last 30 years.

Ruth was the original owner and operator of the Corner Sleep Shop in Fall River, MA. Self-taught in accounting, which proved to be invaluable in starting her own business. She was a member of Montaup Country Club for over 40 years and a member, with her family, of Windmill Hill Golf Course for 20 years. She enjoyed being by the water and loved fishing, clamming and boating. Ruth was known for her frequent trip with her group of friends up to Foxwoods and also was an avid knitter. She would knit things for everyone in the family, especially her grandchildren. More than anything, Ruth loved her family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jeffrey Francis and his wife Faith of Warren; her daughter, Debra Ferrieri and her husband William of Somerset, MA; her grandchildren, Tracy Lima, Lauren Crawford and Chistopher Ferrieri; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Adison, Avery and Elsie. She was the sister of the late Joseph Brelsford Jr. and the grandmother of the late Garrett Ferrieri.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI where the family will receive relatives and friends for Visitation on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 1-4PM. A Service will be held at 3PM. A Private Burial will be held at a later date.
