Obituary For Stella Jayne Donovan
Stella Jayne Donovan, (80), of Rumney, NH, formerly of Warren and Bristol, RI passed away at home on April 21, 2016.
Stella was born in Fall River, Massachusetts the daughter of James and Jennie (Gilroy) Hoar. She grew up in Bristol, Rhode Island, attending area schools in Bristol and after high school she went to work at J.J. Newberry's, later working as a waitress at the Wharf Tavern in Warren, the Lobster Pot in Bristol, and the Italian Farmhouse in Plymouth, N.H. for 10 years before retiring in 2010.
Stella married the love of her life Robert on February 18, 1966 in Seekonk, Massachusetts. After they were married they lived in Warren, before moving to Rumney, N.H. in 1995.
Stella loved to cook, she enjoyed writing calligraphy and coloring, becoming a skilled and talented artist. She loved her garden and especially tending to her cats and dogs. She loved theater, film and travelling. Stella was also involved in local politics and loved having spirited debates with anyone who did not agree with her.
Besides her husband of 50 years, Robert, she leaves her two daughters; Susan O'Hara of Bristol, and Darcy DaCosta and her husband Christopher of Warren; her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Blinkhorn of Bristol; Robert DaCosta and Elizabeth DaCosta of Warren; her great grandchildren, Jack and Juliet Blinkhorn both of Bristol. Stella was predeceased by her parents and her favorite uncle Peter Gilroy.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends, Thursday, April 28th , 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 29th in St Mary's Church, Wood Street, Bristol at 10am. Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Bristol. Please visit www.wjsmithfh.com.

My prayers and thoughts are with the Donovan family. Stella was a big part of my life and made me part of her family. I can not express what she meant to me in almost 40 years as a friend and I will never forget the fun times we shared. May God Bless her and her family. Jeff and Pauline Marshall
