Obituary For Stephen Accrino

Stephen P. Accrino, age 69, of Bristol, RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Felag Johns for only 17 years. Born in New Haven, CT, Steve was the son of the late Gerald & Doris (Barletta) Accrino; He is survived by his wife Mary Johns of Bristol; two daughters, Christine J. Johns of Providence and Alexandra K. (Johns) Malloy and husband Joshua of Cranston; granddaughter Josie K. Malloy - He will always be “Big S” to her. In addition, he is survived by his brother Ken Accrino of Tennessee and the late Gerald Accrino Jr. Stephen graduated from Notre Dame high school in West Haven, CT. He continued his education and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College in psychology. He worked in the Schneider Arena at Providence College as a part of the arena operations staff. Steve enjoyed driving the Zamboni during the PC hockey games, he was a Friar fan attending many games. Stephen will surely be missed by many and remembered as a hardworking, trustworthy, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Special thanks to family and friends for all the love and support. Thanks to Hope Hospice for the incredible loving care. Steve was a communicant of St. Alexander’s parish in Warren, RI. He served as an usher during masses. Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 5-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10AM in St. Alexander’s Church, 221 Main St. Warren, RI. In lieu of flowers donations in Stephens name may be made to Hope Health Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or www.hopehealthco.org.
