Obituary For Steven Daniel Cyr

Steven Daniel Cyr, 48, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Tues., Nov. 5, 2013 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL.

He was the husband of Kelli E. (Ferguson) Cyr, of Homosassa for 11 years,.

A native of Providence, R.I., he was born Aug. 25, 1965 to Jane (Stuckey) and the late Paul Cyr (1992), he was one of eight children. Steve was a 1983 graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence.

Steven moved to Homosassa, Fla. four years ago from Warwick, R.I. and was of the Roman Catholic faith. Steven was a former private security agent, serving with an agency that was responsible for the Newport, R.I. area. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Father of daughter Kristen (Cyr) Orsini (husband Larry) of Providence, R.I.; son Nolan Cyr and daughter Morgan Cyr, both of Homosassa; mother Jane Cyr, Vero Beach, FL; sister Helen Murphy, E. Providence, R.I.; brother Paul Cyr, Vero Beach, FL; brother William Cyr, Franklin, MA; sister Elizabeth Vivieros, Warwick, R.I.; brother David Cyr, Vero Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded by two siblings, Thomas Cyr and Joyce Atkins.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, where the family will receive friends Friday, July 11, 2014 from 6 to 7 PM. A celebration of Steven's life with be held immediately following at 7PM. www.wjsmithfh.com

    Dear Kelli and family, Wow, I still cannot believe it. It just seems so impossible. I remember your wedding like it was yesterday. Oh how happy you two were. You certainly built a beautiful family and life together and made the very big decision to move to Florida. Steve was a really great guy, a friend to many, loving husband and terrific dad. Even with his health issues you two kept going and persevered and worked as a team. Steve left this world way too early, but what a nice impression he left. He watches over you all and is with you always. My love and sympathy to you and your family. If you need anything please don't hesitate to call. With much love! Karen
