Obituary For Susan Marie Marine

Susan M. Marine, 63, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Rhode Island Hospital. The daughter of the late Napoleon S. and Georgette "Helen" (Leary) Nutter and the wife of John L. Marine, she was a long-time resident of Bristol. Susan wore several hats in her lifetime, but none made her prouder than her work as a pre-school teacher's assistant. She loved working with children and cherished her time with her classes. She also was involved in coaching the Pop warner Cheerleading team. However, her profession was always secondary to her family. Susan was known as the central hub of the family and always stole the floor at parties and gatherings, due to her feisty nature. Apart from family gatherings, she loved spending time with her children and, later, her three grandchildren. In addition to her husband, John, Susan is survived by her two sons, John N. Marine and his wife Laura and Nick Marine and his wife Cynthia, both of Bristol; her daughter, Melissa Andrade and her husband Kevin of Warren; her two sisters, Anne Nutter of FL and Newport RI, and Janice Tidwell and her husband David of Washington; three grandchildren, Miles Marine, Leah Andrade and Cameron Andrade. She was the sister of the late Michael Nutter, formerly of VT. Services are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 10am in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St. Bristol. Family and friends are invited to meet at church. I'm so sorry for your loss. She was a good person and a good friend. I'm sorry I missed the services. I just found out. She traveled on the bus with me to Our Lady of Fatima. We had lots of fun learning and talking all the way back to Newport. She was in attendance at the last reunion we had. She was with her husband and we had a good time. I didn't know she was sick. I'm praying for her husband and her children and grandchildren. May you rest in peace Susan.

Sue had the biggest heart, loved children, loved people, she was a great part of the sea side Nursery School school first as a volunteer than accepting a position offered her. She loved her work and she brightens up everyone's day. She was greeted by the children when she walked in and they wanted her to play before she even put her jacket in the closet. Sue cared, she reached out she went beyond to make any person happy. She would break into song singing " Build me up Buttercup" and we would all join in. She will be truly missed. She is truly an angel. My deepest sympathies to you all, JP FERNANDES
