Obituary For Sylvia A. Serpa

Sylvia A. Serpa, 80, of Warren, RI, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. A daughter of the late Roger and Sylvana (Barboza) Lambert and the beloved wife of James Serpa, Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Warren.

Sylvia worked as a Caregiver for Edgemont Residential Care Home for many years, until her retirement. She was an avid Red Sox fan and would watch every game she could during the season. Sylvia loved to travel and did so with her family often. Sylvia would go anywhere as long as she had a front seat and a cup of tea when she got there. She enjoyed shopping in New Hampshire, spending the winters in Florida and going skiing with her family. But, she was most content sitting back at the ski lodge with a good book while everyone was out skiing. She loved to read, ride in the milk truck with Jimmy and a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin. She was an amazing cook and baker, and, most of all, Sylvia loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband, Jimmy, Sylvia is survived by her sons, William Perreault Jr. of Cranston, RI, Michael Perreault and his wife Rebecca of Clayton, NC, and Wayne Perreault of Atlanta, GA; her step-son, James Serpa II and his wife Natalie of Waterville Valley, NH; her brother, Roger Lambert Jr. of Providence, RI; her sister, Donna Cunard of Middletown, RI; her seven grandchildren, Diana, Matthew, Kyle, Spencer, Andrew, Noah and Colby; and her two great grandchildren, Leah and Julia-Jean. She was the step-sister to the late George Pelletier and Sue Aubin.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885 where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 8:30-10AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas the Apostle, 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, RI 02885. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut St. Bristol, RI 02809.
