Thomas A. Pesta, 85, of Bristol, RI, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Thaddeus and Alice (Sellers) Pesta and the beloved husband of Cynthia E. (Hewes) Pesta, Thomas grew up in Michigan before settling in Bristol with his family.

Thomas had a long and accomplished career with the U.S. Navy, having served for 20 years. He then went on to work for Raytheon and other companies until his retirement at the age of 78. In his spare time, Thomas enjoyed doing puzzles and going to Disney World with his grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife, Cynthia, Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas A. Pesta II and his wife Robin of Lincoln, RI; his daughters, Lisa Anne Boiteau and her husband Michael of Norfolk, VA and Kathleen A. Thurley and her husband William of Smithfield, RI; his 7 grandchildren, William, Elizabeth, Alexander, Victoria, Alyson, Kyle and Thomas; and his 2 great grandchildren, Oliva Rose and Adelynn Grace.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02855. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, 141 State St. Bristol, RI 02809. A Burial with full Military Honors will be held at North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St. Bristol, RI 02829.
