Obituary For Thomas M Howland
Bristol Thomas M. Howland, 62, of Bristol, died Saturday, March 21, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Margaret (Rogers) Howland, they were married for 40 years.
He was born in Fall River, MA., a son of the late William J. and Elsie (Mello) Howland.
Thomas was a cook at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, for the last 11 years, working there was his favorite job.
Mr. Howland has lived in Bristol for over 40 years coming from Warren, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Tom had coached his sons and grandsons, at the King Phillip Little League in Bristol. He was a member of the Bristol Elks,he also enjoyed gardening.
Tom also enjoyed his trips to Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
He has also been a chrome plater for Tech Industries for over 35 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by his sons James Phillips and his wife Yvette of Myrtle Beach, S.C., David Phillips of Bristol.
He was the brother in law of Earl Rogers and his wife Debra of Murrells Inlet, S.C.
He was the brother of William Howland and his wife Bonnie of Warren, his sister Linda Parisi of Warren.
Mr. Howland was the grandfather of Jarid Ventura, Rhiannon Phillips, Mason Phillips, Kelsey Phillips and Robert Fraser.
He was the great grandfather of Alexis Snyder, Tate Snyder, Nyla Accardi, Matthew Grandgeorge.
Tom was the brother of the late Helen ODonnell.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 10:00 am in the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road Warren. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street Bristol, RI.
Calling Hours are Wednesday from 4:00 pm 7:00 pm. We WILL Be FOLLOWING all the current regulations issued by the Department of Health , until further notice.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or donors@st.jude.org.
***please note *** We have been, and are still currently following the Executive Order from the Governor of Rhode Island, and Department of Health Officials, concerning the COVID -19 Virus Protocols. Should you not want to attend calling hours and or the service, you are all welcome to go to St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol, at approximately at 10:45 am on Thursday for the committal prayers at the grave.*********
