Timothy Paul Harnois, 53, of North Smithfield, RI passed peacefully home to the Lord, October 19th, 2014 surrounded by his loving family, friends and caretakers.

Born February 25, 1961, Timmy was born with challenges he faced with strength, courage and humor. For the past twenty years, he resided at Homestead Group Home, North Smithfield under the care of wonderful selfless giving professionals.

Timmy was a Special Olympics athlete winning gold medals in field and track. Timmy enjoyed dancing, sports, dining out with friends, family visits and movies. He had a fascination with firefighters and would have loved to have been one. Timmys cheerful and mischievous personality brought joy and comfort to all.

Timmy is survived by his siblings: Kathleen Bradley of Middletown, R.I; Michael Harnois of Columbus, Georgia; Dyanne Gibree of Bristol, Raymond Harnois and Daryl Sousa of Middletown, RI; John Harnois and Karen Pacheco of Warren, RI.

Tim was predeceased by his mother Pauline Harnois, father Donat Harnois, and brother, Steven M. Harnois.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Abundant Life Church, 135 New Meadow Road, Swansea, MA. Condolences will be at 10:00am, service at 11:00am, with reception following. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be directed to the RI Special Olympics, Woonsocket Wolverines, 370 George Washington Highway #1, Smithfield, RI 02917.
