Vasco J. Ferreira, 70, of Warren, RI passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 with his loving family by his side. A son of the late Alberto Paulo and Laura Maria (Tavares) Ferreira and the beloved husband of Eduarda (Borges) Ferreira, Vasco grew up in his hometown of Terceira, Azores, Portugal before moving to Warren in 1978, where he remained for the rest of his life.

Vasco worked at American Insulated Wire Association and as a Landscaper for many years before his retirement. In his free time, Vasco loved to visit to his hometown in the Azores where he would enjoy the feasts, bull fights, soccer games. His favorite soccer team was Benfica. He truly loved his community and, of course, his family. Vasco would volunteer at every opportunity for the Warren Soccer club and Holy Ghost, where he was a member for over 50 years. Most of all, Vasco was known as a wonderful father, grandfather and husband.

In addition to his beloved wife, Eduarda, Vasco is survived by his son, Rogerio Ferreira and his wife Jana of Warren, RI; his brother, John Ferreira of San Jose, CA; his grandson, Mason Ferreira; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anatolio, Antonio, Jose Paulo and Fernando.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4-7PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 8AM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, RI.
