Pawtucket - Wayne G. Mackie, 67, of Pawtucket , died Friday August 23,2019 at Hope Hospice in Providence. He was born in Providence a son of the late Walter C. and Alice M. (Schultz) Mackie II.

Wayne has lived in Pawtucket for over 23 years coming from East Providence.

He was active with Operation Stand Down , the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, and he was also an advocate for the homeless.

Wayne is survived by his brothers Arthur H. Mackie of Mobile, Alabama, Bruce R. Mackie of Glen St. Mary, Florida , his sisters Ann Marie Dietlin of Warwick, Rita C. Engstrom of Waterford Maine, Deborah G. DeAndrade of Providence, and Cathy M. Mackie of North Scituate.

Wayne leaves many nieces and nephews, including Melissa M. Karls, Alexis M. DeAndrade and Brianna L. Karls with whom he made his home in Pawtucket for many years.

Wayne was the brother of the late Walter C. Mackie III, Paul W. Mackie.

Wayne led a very storied life, and all are invited to come and share their stories of Wayne at a Celebration of His Life on Tuesday,September 24, 2019 at 10:00am at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence,RI.
