Obituary For William Atwell Tucker III

Tucker Jr., William A. Bill, 101, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at home. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Gifford) Tucker.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was the son of the late William A. and Jennie (Repperger) Tucker.

Bill had worked as a technical service director at Dixon Industries for 31 years. He was also the owner and operator of Main Street Florist in Warren for many years. He was a Communicant of St. Marys Church in Bristol. As a young man he was a member of the Jaycees in Bristol. He had served on the board for the Narragansett Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Bristol Yacht Club for many years and the Narragansett Bay Power Squadron. Bill had served his country by building PT boats during WWII.

He is survived by 2 sons, James Tucker of North Providence, RI, and Mark Tucker of Wakefield, RI, a daughter, Veronica A. Medeiros of Bristol, RI, 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. He was the father of the late William A. Tucker III, and the brother of the late Arthur Tucker and Harold Tucker.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 11:30AM-1230PM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM, in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.
