Obituary For William Earl Brailey

William “Bill” Earl Brailey, 80, of Warren, RI, passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at home. He was the husband of the late Betty Jo (Botelho) Brailey. Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Earland William and Veronica Alma (Guilmette) Brailey. Bill graduated from Durfee High School in 1959. In 1960 he went on to join the United States Air Force National Guard. Immediately following, he went on to have a career as an electrical engineer for Raytheon, retiring in the 1990’s after 39 years. At a young age, his father taught him car mechanics and racing cars became a passion. There were many things that brought him joy, some of them including: working on and attending car shows with his ‘67 Chevelle, HAM radio, camping trips near and far, being a member of the Fall River Rod and Gun Club, fixing broken clocks and sewing machines, attending Raytheon retiree monthly luncheons, and spending time with family. He is survived by a son, William S. Brailey of Cocoa Beach, FL, a daughter, Ashley Welch and her partner Rodney of Middletown, RI, two step-sons, Robert Durand and his wife Jacqueline of Winslow, ME, and Gary Durand and his wife Beth of Hopkinton, MA, a step-daughter, Nadine de Melo and her husband Antonio of Tiverton, RI, a sister, Bertha Brailey Given of Mooresville, NC, eleven grandchildren, Mathew, Justin, Mackenzie, Ryan, Christopher, Stephanie, Sarah, Rachel, Amanda, Katie and Hannah, and eight great-grandchildren, AvaLeigh, Isla, Mileah, Zoë, Raeden,Albie, Ronnie and Bobby. In addition, several nieces and a nephew that were always close to his heart. Bill is also survived by an ex-spouse and friend, Donna Lewis-Nannini. A private graveside service will be held. So sad to hear of Bill's passing. He worked with my parents Bob & Doris at Raytheon. He would come & visit with them, and when my dad died he continued to visit my mom. He was a good friend & when Bill became I'll & no longer visit, my mom would call and check on him. The family of Robert Forcier were saddened to discover the news of his passing. We are thankful for the time we knew him and take comfort knowing he is no longer suffering.
